Firefighters continue to fight the mountain fires near Stellenbosch, which started a week ago and burned about 13,600 hectares of vegetation.
The fire has spread to very high ground, mostly inaccessible, the Cape Winelands municipality said Sunday.

Fire suppression teams would be deployed to critical points in accessible areas of Jonkershoek, where they would continue with outbreak management, monitoring and clean-up operations.
