ANC leaders in the national working committee (NWC) are said to be considering a proposal to temporarily dissolve the party leadership and put in its place a national task force to rebuild the organization.
This after a group that calls itself ANC cadres held a summit to discuss the crisis facing the organization.
Their leader, retired General Maomela “Mojo” Motau, told News24 that the 31-page document “ANC Strategy for Change 2025” was given to the NWC and that they are currently in talks with them about some of the suggestions.
He said that some of the major players currently in talks with cadres include ANC President Gwede Mantashe, Secretary General Ace Magashule and the Under Secretary General.
“It was presented and there are discussions, yesterday there was a meeting in which they talked about the way we are really trying to make the structure work. The meeting will continue on Thursday next week where I hope we finalize how the system works to work “Motau added.
He was criticized by the head of the South African National Defense Force for mobilizing soldiers to discuss matters related to the ruling party.

The document details some of the crises facing the ruling party, including a crisis of legitimacy, credibility, political coherence, morality and leadership.
The document read:
“Through the years, the ANC boasted of tried and tested leadership armed with revolutionary theory. Today, the leadership seems to lack political awareness and therefore lacks the agility of the political mind. It is leadership that it pursues personal interests more than the interests of the masses of our people. Therefore, leadership is not won in the struggle, but by other means. “
He continued: “It is a leadership that is immobilized and becomes incapable of leading our revolutionary movement to achieve its strategic objective. We are in a state of paralysis. All is lost, including the necessary agility and political acumen.”
The document further affirmed that the fundamental cause of the crisis was the lack of political commitment to the struggle, which made the ANC its worst enemy.
Strength
The document lamented the fact that the party has abandoned its critical structures necessary to build a solid and formidable force against “neocolonialism”, adding that its political, security and communication structures have all but disappeared.
“We are forced to adopt policies that actually serve to strengthen neocolonialism rather than revolutionary change,” the document reads, which says that the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) policy, the Spatial Development Framework and Bantu education syndrome have ensured the ANC. it was a mere liberal party in a neocolonial structure and not a revolutionary movement.
“It will be a difficult and arduous task to rescue our leadership from the clutches of neocolonialism and neoliberalism in a short time. That is an operation that will require serious political persuasion and a lengthy political process. Putting the ANC in Therefore, some form of stewardship is the only viable approach and solution to the challenges we face.
He said:
Consequently, a National Task Force is the only credible structure that should take over the management of ANC affairs in the short term. This is a matter of strategic importance. In this regard, credible and committed cadres must be asked to volunteer to participate in this process of strategic renewal of the movement. For this, the comrades must have a history of struggle that can withstand scrutiny ”, he adds.
The National Task Force would build structures with a political program to revitalize the ANC.
The ANC cadre strategy details how all foreign nationals must leave South Africa within the prescribed period and those who run small businesses and organizations must close or stop businesses and leave the country within the prescribed period.
News24 reached out to ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe, whose comment will be added to the story upon receipt.
