Minister of Sport, Art and Culture Nathi Mthethwa mourned the passing of defender Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns, Motjeka Madisha.

Madisha died in a car accident near Kempton Park early Sunday morning.

I was 25 years old.

In a statement released to the media on Sunday afternoon, Mthethwa praised Madisha as an “extremely talented player” and expressed his condolences to the family, among others.

“Madisha, who was only 25 years old, was a very talented player. He was a model professional and one of the most promising footballers in the country. Another family lost a son and a breadwinner. We express our deepest condolences to the Madisha family, Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club and the nation at large, ”Mthethwa said in the statement.

Mbali Hlophe, Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation also paid tribute to Madisha.

“Our condolences first and foremost to his family, his fans and his team. Gauteng is proudly celebrated as the home of champions and proved several times that it was. It is a sad ending to a career that was definitely on the rise. , Hlophe said.

“Gauteng has lost another great talent and the nation as a whole lost a star. He accomplished a lot at a tender age and we hope his life inspires many children to dream big.”
