Sony to remove ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ from PlayStation Store and refund gamers

Sony confirmed on Friday, December 18, that it would be removed from the list Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store. It would also offer full refunds to customers who purchased the game.

SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) said in a statement that it “strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction” and will therefore take steps to ensure that the standard is maintained.

This follows after CD Projekt Red accepted that Cyberpunk 2077 It wasn’t up to the task, especially not on the base consoles. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players have reported that the game is practically unplayable.

CD Project Red encouraged players to request refunds from physical and digital retailers or contact [email protected] before December 21. The studio will continue to work to improve the game.

CD Projekt Red assured customers that “all copies of the game previously digitally purchased from the PlayStation Store [will] remain available for use by their respective purchasers ”.

Additionally, players could still purchase physical versions of the game from retail and mail order stores. Lastly, all copies, “whether digital or physical, will continue to receive support and updates from the Company.”

Sony explained that the team will confirm who bought the game and then “begin processing [refunds]”. He added that “the completion of the refund may vary depending on the payment method and the financial institution.”
