The court also heard how, while he was behind bars, the correctional services department allegedly found three cell phones in his cell at the Kgosi Mampuru prison in Pretoria. One of them contained incriminating evidence, including talk about alleged bribery of judicial officials.

Mudolo had provisionally chosen not to request bail when he appeared with his wife, the Bushiri couple, and Londiwe Ntlokwana. They were granted bail.
Now Mudolo is seeking bail, adding that he intends to plead not guilty. He launched a new application for bail last week after changing his legal representative.
“I intend to plead not guilty and will provide evidence to the state that any and all funds paid into the Rising Estate (Pty) Ltd trading account, without my knowledge but following instructions from Mr. Shepherd Bushiri, were refunded to the nominated story by Mr. Shepherd Bushiri and various recipients, ”he said.
