Durban – Controversial Durban businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize has vowed to “set the record straight” regarding her back-and-forth saga with South African Revenue Services (Sars).

On her social media Thursday, Mkhize said that those who want to know can watch her interview on SABC at 3pm.

“Watch me today on channel 404 of @SABCNews at 3 pm. I’m making things clear regarding the SARS saga,” he posted, using the hashtag #kwamammkize

Four days ago, IOL reported that the tax collector had liquidated Mkhize’s company, Zikhulise Cleaning Maintenance and Transport (ZCMT).

The Gauteng High Court ordered the liquidation of the company and final liquidation for not having reached a tax agreement with Sars.

Although a ruling was handed down on Thursday, the matter dates back to 2016 when Sars launched an urgent request for the dissolution of ZCMT.

Mkhize and her ex-husband, former subway cop Sbu Mpisane, were known for their extravagant and luxurious lifestyle. They built their empire on construction, among other businesses, with the municipality of eThekwini and the province when they were awarded tenders to build low-cost housing, schools and medical facilities in KwaZulu-Natal.

On his reality show that aired on DStv, he set his tongue in motion with his opulent lifestyle.

However, the dark cloud over their affairs Sars has been following them since 2013. She was once accused of inflating bills by more than R5m to lower her tax bill.

This led to the seizure of the couple’s cars, valued at some 22 million rand. These were later returned. They own a mansion in La Lucía with a luxury car showroom.

Meanwhile, Mkhize’s reality show won the award for best television reality show at the Hollywood African Prestigious Awards.
