Sharks half tight Sanele nohamba is “fine” after receiving a monstrous entry from the Angelo Davids Western Province wing on Saturday.

The Sharks won the game 19-9 to reserve their spot in next weekend’s Currie Cup final against the Bulls at Loftus.

The incident in question occurred towards the end of the first half in Newlands when Nohamba jumped to receive a pass over his head from Sikhumbuzo Notshe.

However, Davids read the play and crashed into Nohamba, who was left dying on the grass, while some on social media felt the tackle should have penalized.

To his credit, Nohamba made a quick enough recovery and completed half.

However, he did not return for the second period, raising concerns that he had been seriously injured.

However, speaking after the game, Sharks boss Sean Everitt confirmed that Nohamba was “fine.”

“Nohamba wasn’t injured in that hit, although he looked pretty bad,” Everitt said.

“We’ll take another look at that incident, but at the end of the day we felt like Jaden (Hendrikse) would offer us a little more.

“Sanele hasn’t played for a long time, so we didn’t want to pressure him.

“He’s fine.”
