A new look Sharks the bottom line will face the Bulls at the first Super Fan Saturday game at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria this weekend.

Shark trainer Sean Everett he has named a strong 30-man team of 16 forwards and 14 running backs.

Blitzboks Werner Kok and Muller du Plessis are among the riders with new signing Manie Libbok, as well as seasoned Curwin Bosch, Lukhanyo Am, Jeremy Ward, Marius Louw and JP Pietersen.

Bosch and Petersen are two of five Springboks on the Sharks team; the other three are among the forwards: Ox Nche, Thomas du Toit and Sikhumbuzo Notshe.

Bosch admitted that he can’t wait to get back into rugby action after such a long break and was also pleased with the quality of the players who have joined the Sharks.

“These are exciting times now, it’s been great to get back to training, although the body is still getting used to the contact, but we are looking forward to finally getting back on the field and throwing a rugby ball,” Bosch said.

“Manie Libbok will fit in very well here with the style we play. The backs that he will have around him will complement his game. We can’t wait to see what he can add.

“And we all know the type of player that Werner Kok is. We are a team that prides itself on never giving up and playing the full 80 minutes and Werner is the type of player who never backs down. He will add a lot of value with his pace of work and his work ethic from the beginning. “

Bosch admits that returning to rugby means regaining momentum again and this is the opportunity to start building at a level they left him at in Super Rugby.

“It’s going to be difficult for all of us, but it’s about starting with the basics once again,” he said.

“This weekend is the perfect opportunity to hone some basics, as well as the things we’ve been working on for the past two weeks to prepare to play again.”
