Two men the community believes shot Pillay were assaulted, beheaded and burned.

Today, the bagpipes led the way when Pillay’s golden coffin was brought into the area.

Singing “Viva Mafia viva”, the residents walked by the coffin.

The family and those close to the Pillay family wore white T-shirts with the face printed on them. Two tents were set up near Pillay’s home, and at one point, police had to step in to remind residents to adhere to Covid’s security protocol.
