SENEKAL – There is a confrontation between the EFF and the farmers outside the Senekal Magistrates Court on Friday.
Two suspects, Sekwetje Isaiah Mahlamba and Sekola Piet Matlaletsa, are in court in connection with the murder of Brendin Horner, a 21-year-old white farm manager.

ENCA reporter Govan Whittles spoke to one of the protesters who said he is there to oppose violence directed against farmers.
The man said he could not explain why some of the protesters against the farm attack came with firearms.
Several different groups of people are participating in protests in the area, for different reasons.
Afriforum, accompanied by some agricultural unions, has gathered 1 km from the courthouse, while some protesters against the attacks on farms have engaged with a group of EFF protesters closer to the court building.

Stone-throwing, intimidation and vandalism have been reported in the standoff in front of the Senekal Magistrates Court.
Police Minister Bheki Cele accompanied a strong police presence in the city to ensure that violent disturbances do not occur.
The police reportedly searched vehicles entering the city and confiscated some firearms from the people participating in the protest.
