- The husband of radio personality Dimakatso Ratselane is a wanted man, following a violent attack on her in Mangaung.
- The attack occurred during a fight the couple had while on their way to find their children, according to police.
- The attack generated widespread condemnation in a country plagued by incidents of violence against women and children.
Police are still searching for the husband of the radio personality, Dimakatso Ratselane, after he allegedly stabbed her several times and left her for dead in Mangaung, in the Free State.
“Now there are new developments [in] the case. Investigators are still looking, “provincial police spokesman Brigadier Motantsi Makhele said on Saturday.
The Lesedi FM personality was fighting for her life at Pelonomi Hospital after community members found her on Thursday.
Makhele said that Ratselane was attacked during an argument the couple had as they headed to Mangaung Phase 2 to search for their children.
“Along the way they fought and ended up in an informal settlement known as Dinaweng. Community members found Dimakatso in critical condition near Bra-White’s tavern around midnight.

“His body was covered in blood, indicating that he suffered multiple stab wounds,” Makhele said.
The attack has generated widespread condemnation.
Free State Prime Minister Sefora Ntombela said what happened in Ratselane was a painful reminder that women in South Africa are under siege due to gender-based violence.
“I had the misfortune to see the heartbreaking images of Dimakatso’s murdered body and I had no doubt that the aim of her attacker was to kill her. However, the brave Dimakatso refused to be killed by a coward and clung to her . life and is currently in the hospital. “
“I am upset and sick at the cruel attack on Dimakatso Ratselane. She was attacked at the same time [when the] The government relied on people like her to educate and warn our people about Covid-19. I ask everyone not to share images of Dimakatso because they are already traumatizing as they are. An attempted murder case was opened at the Kagisanong Police Station.
