By now you know that the Fiesta ST isn’t just one of our favorite hatchbacks, it’s one of our favorites. cars, point. That is why we are happy to bring you news of this new version. Welcome to the Fiesta ST ‘Edition’: only 300 will arrive in the UK, all three-door, with a RRP of £ 27,075 each. That’s almost £ 5k more than the standard car.
Ford says the Edition is for “true high-performance driving enthusiasts,” so what do you get for your money besides the exclusivity? Ford Performance adjustable coilover suspension, which lets you play with ride height (standard, 15mm lower at the front, 10mm at the rear) and bump / rebound (ten settings for the former, 16 for the second).
Meanwhile, Ford has played with steering and installed special 18-inch alloys to save 2kg of unsprung weight per corner and hide more robust brakes. You also get the normally optional Quaife differential. The company says all the modifications add to the “most rewarding, agile and safest Fiesta driving experience yet.” We will be the judges of that, thank you very much.
You don’t get more power: the ST is still powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with just 200 hp. 0-62 mph takes 6.5 seconds and top speed is 143 mph. But you do get Azura Blue paint, high-gloss black trim for the exterior, and carbon fiber trim for the exterior.
To us it all sounds very familiar to last year’s excellent ST ‘Performance Edition’, just less orange. That is not a bad thing.
