Brighton boss Graham Potter saw his team fight hard to try and stop Arsenal from getting all 3 points last night, but with Lacazette scoring his quick goal 21 seconds after coming in, the Seagulls were even denied one point.
But Potter gave all the applause for the goal to Bukayo Saka, who broke down the wing before setting Laca up. “We tried to push a little high initially. I think Saka has done very well halfway, ‘Potter told The Argus.
“He has shown a great turn of feet and pace and that creates the opportunity.
“We recover a little too fast and that has opened the space and that is what we can do better.
“I don’t think it’s necessarily a question of substitution.
“It’s more the football action that Saka does. We don’t adapt well enough to that. ‘
Arteta can obviously see Saka’s enormous potential, but he warned that we must be cautious around him and keep him grounded to help him progress further. “I would like everyone to be cautious, let it be and let it develop,” Arteta said on Sky.
‘I think he’s having the right progression. I think he has the right people around him at home, in his entourage.
And he also has the right teammates to support him at all times, giving him confidence and keeping his feet on the court.
“So hopefully we can be the right coaches around him and the right club to see the player he can be in the future.”
I think Arteta should also be careful, as the temptation is to play with him (and with Martinelli) in every game now. Fortunately, after the West Brom game, the team will finally have a full 7 days to recharge their batteries. I really, really hope that Saka stays in shape throughout the season.
We need it!
