Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) have announced a broadcast deal for the busy summer of cricket in South Africa.

SABC has confirmed that they will broadcast Proteas’ entry tour against England, Sri Lanka, Australia and Pakistan live.

The tour began on Friday as the hosts battle world champions England in three T20s and three ODIs in the Western Cape.

Sri Lanka then arrives in South Africa for a two-match test series that begins on Boxing Day December 26-30 at SuperSport Park in Centurion, followed by the second test January 3-7 at the Wanderers.

In January and February 2021, Protea and Australia line up once again to renew their rivalry in a three-match test series. Times and locations for that tour have yet to be announced.

The entry tour will conclude against Pakistan in March / April 2021 with three ODIs and three T20s. Final dates and locations for this series are also to be announced.

“An important feature of our vision for South African cricket is to grow the game and ensure that it is accessible to all and SABC’s platforms make this possible,” said CSA Acting Chief Executive Officer Kugandrie Govender.

“This route will allow us to reach the wider South African public who are as interested in live cricket as they are in supporting the Proteas. This partnership proved to be a great success in previous years, as has always been reflected in official audience figures. We are. really delighted that this is possible in a turbulent year that it has been, and we look forward to a brilliant cricket summer.

SABC Sporting General Manager Gary Rathbone added: “We are proud to renew our relationship with Cricket South Africa. It is a relationship that has enabled both organizations to inspire the next generation of Proteas, in a way that no one else could. They have passed. about ten (10) months without a live cricket game on our TV and Radio platforms. With this tour, SABC will put our audience in the front row of the game they love as they can’t be in stadiums. “

SABC3 and Radio 2000 will provide live coverage of all matches, and there will be more coverage on the various SABC radio platforms.
