SA registers 2,029 new cases of COVID-19, 83 more related deaths
The country is preparing to ease lockdown regulations as the infection rate appears to stabilize.

JOHANNESBURG – South Africa has registered 2,029 additional COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s total burden of infections to 659,656.
The country is preparing for a loosening of lockdown regulations as the infection rate appears to stabilize.
The government said it was pleased with the way South Africans have responded to the pandemic, and said the move to closure level one was achieved through a collective effort.
Eighty-three more COVID-19-related deaths were also recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 15,940.
