Louis Oosthuizen fired a four-under-par 68 to lead the South African charge after the opening day of a Teachers at Augusta National on Thursday.
Oosthuizen follows England’s leader Paul Casey by three shots.
LEADERSHIP
The rains delayed the game on Thursday and there are 44 players due to finish their first rounds on Friday after the game was stopped due to darkness.
The only other South African who managed to complete his first round was Charl schwartzel, who shot a par 73 to sit tied for 64th.
Dylan frittelli He is also four under par alongside Oosthuizen, but only managed to complete nine holes.
Erik van rooyen Y Christiaan Bezuidenhout are both a low after 13 and 10 holes respectively, while Justin harding it is double after 13 holes.
With so many players to complete their first round, it is unlikely that all players will finish their second rounds on Friday.
