ROLAND GARROS MEN’S DRAW: Djokovic and Nadal received friendly quarters; Murray v Wawrinka blockbuster

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have received good draws for Roland Garros, but Dominic Thiem has not been so lucky.

Top seed Djokovic will open his campaign against Swede Mikael Ymer, and hopes to have a free run largely towards the quarter-finals. Once there, Roberto Bautista Agut, Pablo Carreño Busta, Jan-Lennard Struff or Matteo Berrettini will probably be waiting.

Fourth seed Daniil Medvedev, who has never won a game at Roland Garros, is a possible semi-final opponent for Djokovic, with Andre Rublev, Denis Shapovalov and Stefanos Tsitsipas in his fourth.

Rafael Nadal may have to face Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals, but he will be happy with his draw until then, with Fabio Fognini as the players’ choice in his fourth.

Thiem, meanwhile, has received a nightmare quarter in the draw.

Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka will face off in a first-round blockbuster in the Thiem section and either of them could be a quarter-final opposition for the Austrian.

Felix Auger-Aliassime, Gael Monfils and Diego Schwartzman are also potential opponents at some point for Thiem.
