Paul Robinson hopes that Barcelona will not hesitate to pay Liverpool £ 15 million for Georginio Wijnaldum, which he says would be a “decent offer” considering the player’s contractual situation.
The former Spurs and Leeds United goalkeeper, speaking exclusively with Football Insider Correspondent Dylan Childs admitted it would be “difficult” for the Premier League champions to lose the 29-year-old before the October 5 transfer deadline.
The Mirror claims that the Reds have informed the La Liga giants that they want £ 15 million for the central midfielder who has only one year left on his contract at Anfield.
Wijnaldum has been an integral part of a Jurgen Klopp team that has won the Champions League and the Premier League in the last two seasons.
He made 47 appearances in all competitions last season and scored six goals.
When asked by Football Insider If £ 15 million was a fair price for the Dutch international, Robinson said: “I think Barcelona would pay that.
“It doesn’t seem like much, it seems like they would be buying his contract.
“It would be difficult to lose a player of his quality and experience, but when a team like Barça knocks on the door, they don’t do it too often. Wijnaldum is 29 years old, so it is a great opportunity for him to go play with a coach he knows.
“£ 15 million is probably a decent offer for a player with only one year left on his contract.”

The club appears willing to sell the hard-working midfielder to Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara, reportedly willing to move to Anfield this summer to play for Klopp.
Like Wijnaldum, the Spain international is in the final 12 months of his contract, and the Champions League winner has imposed a starting price of £ 27 million on the 29-year-old.
