British actor and rapper Riz Ahmed revealed that two of his family members died after hiring COVID-19.

The ‘Venom’ star shared the tragic news in an interview with a magazine, saying that the global COVID-19 pandemic is “reflecting and revealing the flaws in our society.”

The ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ actor said he hoped the death of his loved ones “was not in vain.”

In his interview, the ‘Four Lions’ star made a passionate plea to remind people of BAME origins who keep the country running.

Riz hopes that the virus can unite humanity to tackle bigger problems rather than focus on what divides people, but is concerned that it is only reflecting existing political and social problems.

“The coronavirus is on some level an alien invasion, is it not? It is uniting humanity against the common enemy,” he continued. “So there is this potential for this momentous moment, unique in the history of our species, of all of us going through this crazy challenge together and only being able to overcome it together.

The star also expressed concern about the way Muslims are being treated by the nationalist government in India, and how the disease is affecting communities of color in the UK and the United States, particularly strong.
