Rita Wison detailed her recovery process and spoke about the “extreme side effects” of the antimalarial drug.

Hollywood actress and singer Rita Wilson left fans bewildered and distraught after her and her husband Tom Hanks’ diagnosis of coronavirus.

After recovering from infectious disease in Australia and returning home to Los Angeles, the 63-year-old woman gave her first interview where she detailed her recovery process and discussed the “extreme side effects” of the anti-malaria medication prescribed for her. . .

Speaking to CBS this morning, Wilson revealed that her fever had shot up to 102 degrees after a nine-day period of being sick. This resulted in doctors prescribing him an antimalarial pill, chloroquine, which was approved in the United States in 1949 and is now being examined as a possible treatment for Covid-19.

“I know that people have been talking about this medication, but I can only tell you that I don’t know if the medication worked or if it was just time for the fever to go away,” he said.

The drug also received the go-ahead from the approval of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and Tesla Executive Director Elon Musk, as one of the main contenders for the treatment of the virus.

However, scientists warned chloroquine that it leads to extreme side effects, which the actor also experienced during his recovery after ingesting the pill.

“My fever broke, but chloroquine had such extreme side effects. I was completely nauseous and had vertigo. I couldn’t walk and my muscles felt very weak,” he said during the interview.

“I think people should be very considerate of that drug. We really don’t know if it’s helpful in this case,” he added.

By shedding light on her husband’s symptoms, Wilson revealed that while their case was milder, it took the same amount of time for both of them to fight the disease.

“It was someone, they said, to which Tom and I were exposed at the same time. We don’t know when or where it could have been, but all I can do is all our close contacts: family, our team work: nobody has tested positive”, He said.

Wilson also added that while she is not sure who contracted the disease, before testing positive, they had visited Sydney’s two most popular tourist spots.
