Report: Lazio shows interest in Andreas Pereira

Andreas Pereira could head for a Manchester United exit before the deadline.

Gianluca di Marzio reports that Lazio has started negotiations with United to sign Pereira.

They are reportedly looking for an alternative to attacking midfielder Luis Alberto.

Pereira has lowered the pecking order at United, and one exit now is best for everyone.

Regressed in 12 months

Pereira started two of United’s first three games in the 2019/20 season.

In the first three games of 2020/21, Pereira did not even manage to make the substitute bench.

At this stage, it is not even a surprise. Pereira didn’t even start a single game after the lockdown was resumed in March.

His omission from the bench against Luton in the middle of the week told its own story. You need to move on.

Fee shouldn’t be a problem

Pereira signed a new contract with United in 2019. But he is not among the top earners at the club.

United doesn’t need to expect a particularly high amount, and a fee of around £ 10 million should be acceptable.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if United ends up sending Pereira on loan for one season.

A good performance in Italy would raise your reputation along with your price, and a loan with a purchase option clause as part of the deal could end up being a happy compromise.

Pereira should be willing to move on at this point and take on the next chapter in his career.

At just 24 years old, he has so much more to offer, even if not at Manchester United.
