A reliable source confirmed the incident that has left Zimbabweans devastated.
“He was hit by a car behind the yabreaker imota yasimgxoba and dragged him away. His mother’s words were ‘akakhangeleki’, a source said.
Another source said Cal Vin was in the presence of his girlfriend and friends near their home on Luveve 5 when the drama unfolded.
Moments earlier, the team had been watching soccer at the Emakhandeni Cricket Club. On the way home from the club, he was reportedly hit by a car that was only identified by color as white.
“We were together in a place of entertainment (cricket club) and Cal Vin and his friends left. A few moments later, his girlfriend returned to the entertainment venue looking distraught in search of a vehicle to take him to the hospital.
“This probably happened around 1:30 am. Cal Vin died in Mpilo hospital according to the people who accompanied him, ”said the source.
“The artist must receive justice and the guilty must be caught without blinking,” added the source.
Mpilo officials confirmed that a 35-year-old man was taken to hospital and died upon arrival.
Ironically, when Cal Vin sang Banjalo Abantu two years ago, the artist insisted that people’s actions are ingrained and full of hidden agendas, as is the mystery surrounding his death.
Social media is full of messages of condolence for the talented artist who will be remembered for vigorously putting Bulawayo’s music on the map and being frank.
