Rape case against Shepherd Bushiri’s head of security postponed until January

JOHANNESBURG – A couple linked to the self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri were released on bail Thursday on corruption charges at the Pretoria Magistrates Court.

The couple are accused of bribing the parents of a boy who was allegedly raped by her husband, Clifford Resondt, in 2018.

Resondt is Bushiri’s head of security. He allegedly raped his wife’s niece.

The National Tax Authority (NPA) said that 500,000 rand was transferred from the Shepherd Bushiri Ministries account to the account belonging to the wife, Rosey Resondt.

The same amount is then reflected in the home loan account that belongs to the child’s parents.

“Subsequently, an amount of R500,000 was paid to the complaint to drop the charges and the charges were dropped. The money came from Shepherd Bushiri Ministries. The matter was postponed until January 25, 2021 for further investigation, ”said NPA spokesman Sipho Ngwema.
