Team of Choice and Lidoda Duvha recorded victories in matchday four of the current league campaign on Saturday.

Black Leopards secured their first win of the 2020/21 season when they defeated Maritzburg United at Thohoyandou Stadium in Limpopo.

Rodney Ramagalela started with Leopards after rejoining the Limpopo side midweek after being released by TS Galaxy last month.

English coach Dylan Kerr was in charge of his first game as the Leopards head coach after being re-elected earlier this week.

On the other hand, Sebastian Mwange and Fares Hachi debuted with Maritzburg, who were looking to register their first win of the season.

The two teams attacked each other in the first half, but they did not find the back of the net and the score was 0-0 at half-time.

The deadlock was finally broken at 11 minutes into the second half and it was Ramagalela, who scored his second debut for Lidoda Duvha with a goal.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker was groomed by Lifa Hlongwane and he beat Zambian goalkeeper Mwaange on the Maritzburg goalposts to make Leopards 1-0.

Ramagalela’s lone goal earned the Leopards a narrow 1-0 victory over Maritzburg and pushed Limpopo’s team to 13th place in the league standings.

It was Maritzburg’s fourth consecutive loss in the league this season and it remained 16th in the table.

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC returned to winning ways with a victory over Chippa United at the Danie Craven Stadium in the Western Cape.

The Stellies were injured after suffering a 1-0 loss to SuperSport United before the FIFA break, while Chippa had recorded their first win of the season when they defeated Maritzburg 3-1 on 3 November.

The tie was broken after 21 minutes of play and it was the Argentine midfielder Junior Mendieta, who scored with a header from a Marc Van Heerden cross to make Stellenbosch 1-0.

The score was 1-0 for Stellenbosch at the break and they continued to attack after the restart as they looked to double their lead.

Stellenbosch’s 2-0 win over Chippa was sealed by Nathan Sinkala, who scored his second goal of the season in the 86th minute with rookie Phathutshedzo Nange grabbing an assist.

The victory brought Stellies to eighth place in the league standings, while the Chilli Boys fell to eleventh place in the table.

Lastly, Swallows FC remains undefeated on their return to the elite league after drawing with PSL rookies TS Galaxy at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.

The two teams struggled to create clear chances in the first half and the score was 0-0 at halftime.

A second half followed with the Birds featuring Kaizer Chiefs loan officer Given Thibedi, while former Bidvest Wits hitman Mxolisi Macuphu was introduced by Galaxy coach Dan Malesela.

Both teams launched late attacks in search of a goal, but it never came and eventually the match ended in a 0-0 draw on the night.

The result saw Swallows rise to the top of the league standings, beating the Orlando Pirates, while the Galaxy rose to sixth place.
