PSA: Don’t Expect A Halo Infinite Game At This Week’s Xbox Series X Event

The launch of Xbox X Series games on May 7 promises to be a big and exciting event, with images of next-gen games for a series of titles. But there is something very important to remember. Microsoft has said that this event will focus on the titles of its “global development partners”.

This means that you should expect to see images from titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla from Ubisoft and others from third parties, but not Xbox Games Studios games like Halo Infinite.

Xbox Marketing Executive Aaron Greenberg confirmed on Twitter Microsoft is planning a subsequent event to showcase the work of Microsoft’s various Xbox Games Studios teams. Greenberg said Microsoft has “some great summer plans” to showcase first-party titles.

There are many options here. Microsoft may hold another of its Inside Xbox live streaming events to showcase footage of the new Xbox exclusives. The company may also choose to share information during recently announced summer game shows, including Geoff Keighley’s Gamescom digital event and Summer Game Fest. Microsoft can do both, or something completely different.

Whenever this event occurs, it could be piled up with news and revelations. Thanks to recent acquisitions and studio builds, Microsoft now has 15 game development studios, many of which have yet to announce new games.

The Xbox Series X launches this holiday, and Halo Infinite is a launch title. Despite being about six months from launch, more or less, Microsoft has not shown any Halo Infinite games. Halo fans surely hope that will change soon. The game will also launch on Xbox One and Xbox One X, as well as on PC.
