Every nook and corner of the palace is tinged with drama amongst the British royal family as members continue to build divisions.

The uncovered reports reveal how Prince Charles had once suspected that his brother, Prince Andrew, had conspired against him with the help of his ex-wife, Princess Diana.

The revelation was made in 1996 when author Tom Bower published a book on Charles, titled Rebel prince: the power, passion and challenge of Prince Charles.

In the book, it was stated that the Duke of Cornwall suspected that his younger brothers Andrew and Edward were plotting his downfall with the help of Diana.

He also allegedly believed that they were lying to Prince Philip about Camilla to hamper his chances of entering the royal family.

Bower also claimed that the Prince of Wales had even once told his private secretary Mark Bolland that Andrew wanted to be him.

The statement was supported by the similar claim by royal expert Richard Kay that, “Andrew was number two, the queen’s second son, and if something had happened to Charles, it would be Andrew who would take over.”

Apart from that, he also believed that the Princess of Wales was in on this scheme with her former brothers-in-law as she wanted her eldest son William to become king.

Bower claims that Charles was certain that his ex-wife and Andrew’s estranged wife, Sarah Ferguson, were part of the plan “to replace him as heir by announcing that on the death or abdication of the queen, Andrew would be regent until Prince William I was 18 when finished. “
