Famed environmentalist and television host David Attenborough has been friends with royalty for decades. And now, he is meeting the younger generation of the family.

This morning, Kate Middleton (who has said that Attenborough is her favorite celebrity she has ever met) and Prince William shared a video of their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, each of whom made her a Attenborough a question about nature.

The Cambridges rarely share videos of their children with the public, and this is possibly the first time they have posted a clip of their little ones speaking on camera. The footage, which was shot last month at Kensington Palace and can be viewed above, begins with Prince George asking a tough question: “What animal do you think will go extinct next?”

The naturalist tried to calm any of George’s fears by saying, “Let’s hope there aren’t any!” before launching into an explanation of efforts to save endangered animals like the mountain gorillas of central Africa.

Princess Charlotte’s question was a bit more personal. “I like spiders, do you like spiders too?” the 5-year-old asked.

“I love spiders, I’m glad you like them!” Attenborough responded quickly, asking “Why are people so afraid of them?” and speaking of how “wonderful” cobwebs are.

And finally, 2-year-old Louis asked very sweetly “What animal do you like?”

“I think I like monkeys better,” Attenborough said, but what if you had to choose an animal that can live inside a house? Any day I would prefer dogs to cats.
