On the occasion of UK Remembrance Day, a Commonwealth Memorial Day honoring lives lost in the line of duty, the Duke of Sussex gave an interview on a military podcast to discuss how his life was largely shaped by the ten years of service he spent as Captain Wales.

“When they ask me about this period of my life, I draw from memories, I draw from what I remember and who I remember,” he said.

While the Duke is no longer in possession of his military titles after his retirement as a high-ranking member of the British royal family, his dedication to the armed forces has remained unscathed as he continued to work on the Invictus Game and remains committed to the entire community. .
“Once served, always serving, whatever happens. To be able to wear my uniform, to be able to be at the service of the country, these are some of the greatest honors in life, ”he said.
“For me, the uniform is a symbol of something much greater, it is a symbol of our commitment to protect our country, as well as to protect our values. These values are put into practice through service, and service is what happens in tranquility and chaos. “
“It’s what happens in the dark, it’s what happens when people don’t look. It’s what happens on and off the battlefield. It’s about doing our duty as soldiers. For me, as a father, husband and human being, it is about how we uphold these values in all aspects of our lives, ”he added.
