The Department of Correctional Services has called a recent statement by the Popcru union about the national commissioner of correctional services, Arthur Fraser, as reckless and “humiliating for a union representing workers.”

On Thursday, Popcru held a press conference calling for the removal of the former head of the State Security Agency (SSA), claiming that untrained guards were being appointed, excluding experienced ones, and that the prison system was not handling their cases. of Covid-19.

In a statement following the Popcru briefing, the department said the statements made during the briefing were an attempt to endanger Fraser.

“No amount of threats will dissuade Mr. Fraser from adhering to all the prescriptions that govern public services and will not allow impunity and the capture of certain sections of the department by organizations or individuals,” he added.

“It should be noted that Popcru’s fabricated claims are nothing new, as they were sold weeks ago. Now they are being emphasized to start sounding like fact, while they remain deliberately orchestrated misrepresentations to undermine the authority of the accountant.”
