JOHANNESBURG – The lawyer representing one of the police officers in the Nathaniel Julies murder case said one of the co-defendants ordered his client to shoot the teenager and tried to organize a cover-up.
Caylene Whiteboy claims that her fellow officer “Scorpion” Ndyalvane even offered to pay her legal fees if she corroborated her version of events.
The two, along with Voster Netshiongolo, are expected to return to Protea Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Julies (16), who had Down syndrome, was shot and killed last month just yards from his home in Eldorado Park.
Whiteboy has accused Ndyalvane of not only ordering him to shoot Julies, but also hiding what happened.
His attorney, Jeff Maluleke, read Whiteboy’s testimony: “I mention that the commander of my group, who is also the number one applicant on this matter, offered to pay my legal fees if I chose to adapt my version of events. But I refused. In addition, there have been four incidents of death threats to my life by drug lords in and around Eldorado Park and I reported this to my superiors, including the station commander, but to date it has not been done. nothing in regards “.
But Ndyalvane’s attorney, Paul Leisher, said this was a desperate decision by Whiteboy: “With all due respect, she is a desperate woman. She has the right to say when she says. But what evidence besides what is saying right now, protect? herself? “
On Tuesday, the court heard the state’s argument.
The case continues Wednesday morning.
