Potelwa said a rival group, apparently avenging the 25-year-old’s death, had wreaked havoc.
“Later that night, a large group of men apparently responding to the shooting incident set two vehicles on fire at 7 pm near the scene of the shooting. It is alleged that the group also chased after another man who had to jump from his home window while fleeing from his attackers. An informal home was also damaged during the attacks, ”he said.
“A 23-year-old suspect who was part of the group was arrested after he was found with a homemade firearm and ammunition. Meanwhile, two people are being questioned by detectives in connection with the shooting incident. A 19-year-old was arrested for one of the two vehicles that caught fire. Ocean View detectives are investigating murder, attempted murder and intentional property damage cases. “
Potelwa said police will continue to monitor the situation. The anti-gang unit, the tactical response team, the law enforcement police and additional detectives were deployed to the area.
