Investigative officials investigating the case against Communications Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams have already spoken to the National Fiscal Authority, Police Minister Bheki Cele said on Friday.

Cele said the investigating officer had already met with the minister and was “taking the matter forward.”

Preferential treatment claims

Cele denied claims of preferential treatment by police to public officials who contravened the closure regulations.

He said the police had arrested the mayor of Nkandla, Thami Ntuli, for contravening the regulations.

“He did what he wasn’t supposed to do. I don’t know what public officials he’s talking about. So far, the law has run its course.”
