JOHANNESBURG – Police have fired rubber bullets at striking divers along William Nicol Drive.
Drivers have been demanding that the industry be regulated, saying they have been exploited for too long by some companies.
The striking drivers who called by email were slowly returning to Zoo Lake when they clashed with police, who opened fire with rubber bullets.
One driver suffered a head injury: “While I was driving, the police came and stopped in front of me. Then he came to my window and shot me in the head. “
Another driver’s car was also shot: “I was shot along the convoy, I only heard the bullets hit the rear window of my car.”
