Pochettino confirms news that will excite Manchester United fans

Mauricio Pochettino has finally confirmed the news that will excite Manchester United fans as the two continue to be linked to each other.

Despite their 1-0 loss at home at the hands of Arsenal, there is no denying that Manchester United have managed to stabilize the boat after a dismal start to the season. But a few more bad results and they could find themselves in the same situation again.

In many ways, that describes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time as manager. It has been a reign to begin with. One second they look like world beaters and the next they look like a team completely incapable of keeping up with any good Premier League team.

And while Solskjaer’s team has always performed better when it appears to be on the verge of being fired, it has never felt like a long-term solution to the club’s management problems since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Someone like Mauricio Pochettino could be that guy.

The Argentine has long been linked to the Red Devils and while speaking in Sky sports, admitted that he is ready to return to management now after being fired by Tottenham Hotspur almost a year ago:

“He was always willing to get back in the game. I like football. It is my passion, not my job.

“It is not a stress when you are working. It’s not a stress going to boot camp. Preparing for a game is not stressful. Racing is not a stress … look, my hair is still getting longer and longer!

“I really want to play the game again, I love it. It’s hard; We are inside, we are working, we are doing things but it is not the same to be involved every day, to share it with your players, your squad and the club. You miss that.

“Football without fans, you realize that you lose passion … it means a lot to have the fans in the stadium, but we need to protect the industry, that’s why we have to keep playing.”

Pochettino did a great job during his time at Tottenham. He took a team that was quite happy to finish in the top 6 and transformed them into title contenders. He also somehow managed to lead them to the Champions League final against all odds and it was tough on the part of his board of directors to show him the exit door midway through next season.

However, someone’s loss is someone’s gain, and in this case it could very well be Manchester United’s gain. Pochettino could be the man the club has been looking for since Sir Alex Ferguson hung up his boots. Despite never winning a trophy at Tottenham, he has shown enough flashes of brilliance for any high-level club to take aim at.

However, for the moment, Solskjaer is the man in command of the leadership. And hopefully he can bring the club enough success this season that the club doesn’t even have to look for a new manager.
