A cache of weapons, a bulletproof vest and 12 fully loaded magazines were found in a raid on a room in Yeoville.
This after the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) followed up on a tip about a planned robbery.
EMPD spokesman Kobeli Mokheseng said they had been informed by a reliable source about a robbery planned for Monday in the city of Ekurhuleni.

EMPD landed on the apartment block in Yeoville, east of Johannesburg’s financial district, on Sunday and found the stash.
In one room they found four two-way radios, a pepper spray can, a bulletproof vest, an AK-47, two LM-6s, and an AR-15 rifle.
The hiding place was found in two sports bags hidden under a mattress and inside a built-in closet.
The police were called in and the weapons seized.
