Pitso mosimane has put more salt in Kaizer Chiefs’ wounded by pointing out that even refereeing errors in their path weren’t enough to help them win the Premiership title from Absa.
The Mamelodi Sundowns strategist led his team to a trophy triple last season, while Amakhosi still aims to end a five-year trophy drought.
Chiefs enjoyed a 13-point lead at the top of the Premiership standings, but lost to the Brazilians on the final day of the season.
Mosimane has further accumulated the misery of his rivals by claiming that the Soweto giants even enjoyed good fortune and refereeing errors often favored them.
“They (Kaizer Chiefs) had a 13-point gap and I’ve always said they benefited from some umpire mistakes. I mean how many times did they benefit from umpire mistakes this season?” Mosimane told Power FM.
“With all these benefits and 13 points, they blew it in the end and we capitalized to win it. We lost a lot of points during the biobubble. Our first two games were draws against the Orlando Pirates and Highlands Park. We also lost against Cape Town. But the Chiefs were worse. than us during the bubble. “
