The Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service together with teams from Table Mountain National Park and Working on Fire are fighting a fire on the slopes of the mountains in the Camps Bay area, Western Cape, which started Thursday in the late.
Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Jermaine Carelse said the fire was currently located between Bakoven and Camps Bay on Victoria Road.
It added eight fire fighting appliances with 45 staff members on site.
“Two helicopters and an observation plane are bombarding the area. No property is in danger at this time,” Carelse said.
Meanwhile, Cape Town traffic spokesman Richard Coleman said the Victoria and Houghton roads, as well as the Victoria and Llandudno roads, were closed due to the fire.
