Philippe Coutinho’s agent has ruled out the midfielder moving to the Premier League this summer after a conversation with Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman.
The Brazilian international has been linked to several English clubs this year after Bayern Munich chose not to keep the player despite a successful loan.
Coutinho also appeared to have burned his bridges back to Barcelona after scoring twice in Bayern’s 8-2 win over the Spanish club in the Champions League.
However, the arrival of Koeman seems to have given Coutinho a lifeline to try to save his career at Barcelona.
Asked by talkSPORT If he expects Coutinho to stay at the Camp Nou, the player’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, said: “Yes. Koeman called him right after the Champions League win with Bayern, the next day, and told him he was very much in your plans and that you would like to “return.
“He had planned to return on September 7, but actually he came back in early September because he didn’t want to lose momentum and fitness, and he has been training with Barcelona.
“All indications point to the fact that Barcelona has changed dramatically, the way their philosophy of how they wanted to advance from last year and the players they have brought in, like Coutinho, [Ousmane] Dembélé and [Antoine] Griezmann, everyone will be part of the squad this year. “
Koeman’s appointment marks a notable U-turn for Coutinho, who appeared to be leaving the club.

While the 28-year-old has a chance to claim a regular spot on the Barca side, Luis Suárez, who is reportedly on the verge of joining Juventus, has not been given the same opportunity.
Suárez, 33, is said to have agreed to the terms of a three-year contract with the Italian club worth € 10 million (£ 9 million) per season.
Barça and Juventus are now discussing the terms of the transfer agreement with a fee yet to be determined.
