Paul Pogba has congratulated his teammates after their brilliant victory over Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils thrashed the Turkish minnows 4-1, who saw a double from Bruno Fernandes, including an absolute opening howitzer.
Marcus Rashford scored from the penalty spot and Daniel James added another later after coming in as a substitute.
But one player who did not participate was Pogba, who was mysteriously excluded from the team entirely.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that the Frenchman had exacerbated an ankle problem, which haunted his season last year.
“Its [Pogba] the ankle has swollen up, “Solskjaer told MUTV.
“We trained yesterday, but he wasn’t feeling well. This morning it was just a confirmation that he couldn’t play.”
Pogba took to Instagram to respond to his team’s victory, posting a photo of his story with the caption, “Well done guys.”
The France international missed the game against West Brom after suffering a problem in international service.

Whether or not it’s the same ankle that gave him so much trouble last season remains to be seen.
Pogba had to undergo surgery that ruled him out for a considerable part of the season.
It saw him make just 16 Premier League appearances, scoring once, while his future has been discussed after he admitted that this was a difficult period in his career.
With the arrival of Donny van de Beek, the unerring form of Bruno Fernandes, and Fred and Scott McTominay’s preferred midfield pivot, it remains to be seen where Pogba fits in.
During the international break, he told RTL France: “I have never known such a difficult period in my career.
“The France team is a breath of fresh air, the group is exceptional, it is magical.”
But Solskjaer has asked for patience on behalf of the £ 89 million man.
“Of course, he’s not happy when he hasn’t been playing and he’s not playing really well,” Solskjaer said last week.
“He has not been happy with his [club performances]. But Paul had a tough season last season. Then he had Covid.
“I think he is going to improve and be a player and a very important person for us. Keeping him in shape is vital.”
