“Dear Atlético fans, today I only have words of thanks for you. For several years, Atlético de Madrid has been my home and this family will always be part of me, ”Partey posted on Instagram.

I want to thank the club for the trust placed in me from day one, but above all I want to thank you, this wonderful fanbase who accepted me from the first moment and who never stops believing in both the good and the bad. times. Atlético de Madrid is not just a club, it is a family. Thank you.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his joy after the midfielder completed his move to the Emirates Stadium team and feels he will be a good addition to his team.

“We have been watching Thomas for a while now, so now we are delighted to add such a high quality player to our team,” Arteta said.

“He is a dynamic midfielder with a lot of energy. He brings a lot of experience from a top-tier club that has competed at the highest level in La Liga and the Champions League for several years.

“We are very impressed with his attitude and his approach to the game. “He is a smart footballer and we are looking forward to him integrating himself into our system and contributing to the progress we are making at the moment at the club.”

Partey could make his debut for Arsenal when they face Manchester City in their next league game on 17 October.

The midfielder is a key member of the Ghana national team and has 27 appearances for West Africans since making his debut against Mauritius in 2017.

Partey is expected to play a prominent role for the Black Stars in their qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations.
