Siwelele has faced Matsatsantsa after causing an upset by defeating Sundowns.

The Orlando Pirates will face their archrivals Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-finals of MTN8 2020.

The two biggest soccer clubs in the country clashed during a draw that took place on Sunday night.

The Pirates booked their place in the final four after securing a close 1-0 win over Cape Town by 10 men at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

Terrence Dzvukamanja scored the only goal of the game on the Bucs’ debut, who are eager to clinch their 10th MTN8 title and end their six-year trophy drought in the process.

However, Bucs will have to beat his Soweto rivals in the semifinals by two games to reach the final.

Amakhosi advanced to the semi-finals after coming back to defeat Maritzburg United 2-1 at the FNB Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

A goal in the first half from Thabiso Kutumela gave Maritzburg the lead, but Yagan Sasman grabbed a double after the restart that inspired the Chiefs to a well-deserved victory.

The Soweto giants hope to go all the way and clinch a record-setting 16th MTN8 title and also end their five-year trophy drought in the process.

This will be the first meeting between the Pirates and Chiefs on MTN8 since 2014 when Amakhosi ran out of winners 1-0 in the final.

Before that, the Pirates had eliminated the MTN8 Chiefs in the 2013 semifinals when they won 2-1 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, SuperSport United will face Bloemfontein Celtic in the other semi-final tie.

SuperSport advanced to the bottom four after beating Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 3-2 in an entertaining match at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Bradley Grobler, Ghampani Lungu and Iqraam Rayners all scored for Matsatsantsa and both of TTM’s goals were from Mogakolodi Ngele.

Matsatsantsa are the defending champions and are looking to become the first club to retain the trophy since the Pirates in 2011.

Celtic advanced to the semi-finals after causing a surprise by defeating reigning PSL champion Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday night.

Victor Letsoalo’s late goal inspired Siwelele to an impressive victory over Masandawana and Celtic will hope to win the MTN8 trophy for the first time this season.

The Premier Soccer League will announce the dates and venues in due course.
