The chairman of the state’s capture inquiry commission, Supreme Court Vice President Raymond Zondo, announced that the new dates for the appearance of former President Jacob Zuma to testify will be November 16-20.
He said that on October 9 at 09:00 hours the commission will hear a request presented by the commission’s legal team for the issuance of the subpoena.
“We will not negotiate dates with witnesses,” Zondo said.

Zuma was originally scheduled to appear before the commission on September 21-25. However, his lawyers said he would not appear.
The former president’s attorney, Eric Mabuza, wrote to the Zondo commission, saying it was unfair to expect his client to simultaneously consider evidence and affidavits from more than 30 witnesses to prepare to appear this month.
Mabuza also said Zuma was preparing for his long-awaited criminal trial, “the importance of which cannot be overstated.”
He also said that Zuma was involved in several other cases that required his full attention.
