The National Prosecutor’s Office (NPA) has confirmed that the State has reached a verbal plea agreement with Muzikayise Malephane, the man accused of the murder of Tshegofatso Pule.

Phindi Mjonondwane of the NPA confirmed this fact to News24 via text message shortly after the case was postponed on Friday morning.

The State says that the next step “is for the defense to reduce it to writing and present it to the State.”

Malephane, 31, was due to stand trial this morning, but the matter was once again postponed.

He was accused of killing Pule in June, when she was eight months pregnant.
