Fighting Maritzburg United they have parted ways with the head coach Eric Tinkler.
Former Orlando Pirates mentor and Bafana star Bafana has been fired after a series of poor results this season that has seen the Team of Choice retake zero points after four DStv Premiership games.
Tinkler’s team also withdrew from the MTN8 tournament before the start of the current season after losing to Kaizer Chiefs in the quarterfinals.
According to a source close to Maritzburg, Tinkler met with the club’s management on Monday morning, where both parties agreed to go their separate ways.

After saving the club from relegation at the end of the 2018/19 season, Tinkler managed to transform the team into a greatly improved team in the 2019/20 season, where they finished seventh in the PSL standings.
Tinkler’s last game at the helm was Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Black Leopards. The team will be next in action at home against SuperSport United on Friday, November 27.
Tinkler’s final overall record read: He played 57, won 23, drew 13, lost 21.
Tinkler played 45 games for the Bafana Bafana between 1994 and 2002. He was part of the South African team that won the 1996 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
