Beresford Williams, the acting Cricket South Africa (CSA) president, along with five other board members have resigned from their positions in the organization.
The news was announced Sunday morning on CSA’s official Twitter account.
“As mentioned in Friday’s press release, the CSA board met this week and discussed various strategies that would better position CSA. One of these approaches was if the board had to resign in the best interest of CSA and the cricket as a whole, then the board would do it, “the statement began.

Williams is joined by Angelo Carolissen, Tebogo Siko, John Mogodi and Donavan May, who surrendered their resignations.
Following the release of the statement, CSA also confirmed on Twitter that Dheven Dharmalingam had also resigned from the board.
“I am committed to working with the board, member council, and management, should they need it. Despite the tough times, it was a pleasure working with everyone. I wish and hope that CSA finds peace in the coming months. and let cricket take center stage, ”said Dharmalingam.

The CSA Council of Members and Board member Angelo Carolissen have resigned from the Board with immediate effect only. He says these challenges have placed huge demands on his career outside of cricket and that it is in his best interest and for CSA to step down from the Board.
CSA is grateful to continue to count on Mr. Carolissen’s experience as a member of the Council of Members and understands his need to prioritize his career. CSA thanks you for your continued service and support of the game of cricket.
CSA’s council of members and board member Tebogo Siko have resigned effective immediately from the board only. Mr. Siko expressed his gratitude for the leadership of Mr. Williams but, in the interest of cricket, he will walk away from the Board. It will remain in the Council of Members.
CSA appreciates Mr. Siko’s decision to remain within the organization and looks forward to continuing a fruitful relationship with him through the Membership Council.
The CSA Council of Members and Board Member John Mogodi have resigned from the Board with immediate effect only. Mr. Mogodi thanked Acting President Mr. Williams for his guidance and acknowledged the unsustainable situation he has found himself in since his appointment.
Mr. Mogodi congratulated all members of the Board and Council of Members for their integrity, as not a penny of CSA’s money was used for personal gain. He also said that all members have always cared about the best interest of the game.
CSA thanks Mr. Mogodi for always serving the game and the organization with the utmost professionalism, respect and integrity. CSA is honored to still have you on the Membership Council.
CSA Council of Members and Board Member Donovan May has resigned from the Board with immediate effect only. He thanked the Board and agreed that the interest of cricket and South Africa always comes first at CSA.
