Ole Gunnar Solskjaer maintains interest in Erling Haaland

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly still has his eye on Erling Haaland despite the club employing players like Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani.

Before joining Borussia Dortmund, the young forward was said to be wanted at Old Trafford and it is believed that attempts were made to make that happen.

In the end, Solskjaer couldn’t get the reunion he wanted with Haaland, as the German giants got their man.

United would sign Odion Ighalo on loan before signing Cavani on a free transfer last summer.

It’s safe to say that Solskjaer hasn’t looked for a long-term replacement since Haaland was lost, and there is reportedly an explanation for that.

Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford are also two players who can and have fulfilled that forward role so that Manchester United have options compared to the past.

The first of the pair, in particular, is one who is expected to grow up and reach his potential in that position, so talking about Haaland is a bit strange.

However, United fans wouldn’t complain about having the young Norwegian on board and it would definitely add even more firepower, so it makes sense that Solskjaer is still interested.
