Eyewitness news contacted NPA spokesperson Sipho Ngwema, who questioned the veracity of the story, and asked if the reporter involved had even spoken to Cholota.
The NPA said more than a week ago that it had agreed to testify against Magashule, who has been implicated in the controversial R225 million asbestos tender.
The _City Press _ reported that he had seen an email between Cholota and law enforcement where he said it was strange that he only heard through the media that he would testify against the former Free State prime minister.
Ngwema said that Cholota would definitely testify.
“I can assure you that we have been in communication with the witness and we are quite satisfied with the fact that she is going to testify and that she has cooperated with the state,” Ngwema said.
“The rest for us is irrelevant. What matters is what will happen in the court of law. Of course, it is in the interest of other parties to try to question our case. We are pretty sure that we have a good case and that case continues, ”he added.

During Magashule’s bail hearing on November 13, the State put on record that Cholota would testify against his former boss.
But City press said Cholota, who is studying in the United States, confronted the Hawks last week shortly after Magashule’s appearance in court saying she was shocked and asked to see the affidavit she signed confirming that she is a State witness.
Magashule was expected to return to court next February, where he would join his seven co-defendants.
