A prominent member of the NPA has been arrested.
- The head of the NPA’s Special Commercial Crimes Unit has been arrested and charged with theft.
- She was arrested Tuesday at a clothing and grocery store in Mahikeng.
- She is out on R500 bail.
Jeanette Neveling, regional chief of the Northwest National Tax Authority (NPA) Special Business Crimes Unit, has been arrested and charged with shoplifting.
Neveling, who is out on rand 500 bail, was arrested on Tuesday at a clothing and grocery store in Mahikeng.
North West NPA spokesman Henry Mamothane confirmed the arrest.

Neveling allegedly put some items in a cart and left the store, according to Mamothane.
“We can confirm the incident. At this time, we have not seen the footage of the incident,” Mamothane said.
The case will resume in court on March 4.
Neveling is currently prosecuting a corruption case against the head of the North West health department, Thabo Lekalakala.
Mamothane could not confirm whether Neveling would continue to process that matter.
