The case of a 16-year-old Pampierstad resident accused of beheading a 17-year-old colleague took place behind closed doors in Pampierstad Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
According to the spokesman for the National Prosecutor’s Office, Mojalefa Senokoatsane, the hearing was held with the accused in absentia because he was admitted to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
It is alleged that the defendant beheaded the teenager and then dumped the body into a ditch. The head was later found in a hut of a relative of the accused.
