A 19-year-old man from Pampierstad, Northern Cape, who is charged with the murder of his parents, was denied bail.
Tebogo Segae reportedly dragged the bodies of his parents, Stanley and Elizabeth, behind a moving car and threw them into a veld on August 27.
He was arrested on the day of the incident.
Mojalefa Senokoatsane, a spokesperson for the Northern Cape National Tax Authority, said Segae chose to represent himself in court, rather than use legal representation.

He faces two counts of murder.
Senokoatsane said the prosecutor, Dineo Mathule, opposed the bail, especially given the nature of the crime.
The Pampierstad Magistrates Court rejected the bond on Tuesday because it considered that it did not present compelling reasons to justify the granting of the bond, and it would not be in the best interest of justice to do so.
Pampierstad is located between Vryburg and Kimberley in the North Cape.
The case was postponed until October 20 for further investigation.
